A Colour-Filled Childhood Sweethearts Wedding

Sophie, a Learning Support Officer, and Simon, an Engineer, were married on 27 May 2018. Their ceremony occurred at the local village church near Sophie’s parents then a reception in the stunning, near Barry, South Wales.

“We always knew the only thing that mattered to us was for the day to become relaxed, colorful, and fun, so knew from the beginning that we would certainly go with what felt true to us like a couple. I am enthusiastic about the beauty of late springtime and thus a May wedding was an ideal choice for us.”

Sophie wore an old-fashioned gold and pearl necklace, and sparkly drop earrings, along with a pretty gold and pearl bracelet, gifted to her by Simon yesterday at the wedding. She also wore the most wonderful pair of ivory lace gloves!

“I fell deeply in love with them the moment I saw them and merely had to treat myself – in the end when else have you got an excuse to put on exquisite lace gloves?!”

Sophie chose an ideal lace wedding dress, which she purchased in Stacees, and also the silhouette reminds me of the beautiful Belle Époque gowns from the Edwardian era.

“I didn’t have set ideas of the items I wanted when I went searching for my dress, and I had plenty of fun just trying plenty of different styles. As soon as I tried my dress on I realized it had a lot of elements that I loved all combined into one dress: the littlest hint of sparkle, from the shoulder, a button-up back, and, on top of that, a detachable train! It was classic yet different, that is just what I was after.” Here

Sophie and Simon are childhood sweethearts, meeting in school in 1999, and also have been together for 19 years.

“Lewis is only the loveliest guy, very easy to get on with, and he put us comfortable the moment we met him. The images he creates are simply stunning, capturing the real feel of the day, and you will tell Lewis loves what he does for a living. After photographing my sister’s and today our wedding, he feels as though more of a buddy than someone we hired! We would recommend him to anyone.”

“Steve is yet another absolutely lovely person, and he has produced the most amazing film we’re able have ever imagined. When I first watched the highlights I sobbed throughout, as Steve just captured every detail and all the happiness! He is a complete genius. Again, we’d recommend him inside a heartbeat.”

“Because both of us love time outdoors on our allotment as well as in the garden, we always knew there would be a lot of homegrown parts to the wedding, so as planning progressed this became a small theme: edible flowers around the wedding cake, edible flower lollipop favors, pots of pansies displaying the table plan, and homegrown flowers around the tables.”

As the enchanted golden evening light fell around the castle, the evening’s entertainment began with games within the garden along with the first dance to Natalie Cole’s This Must Be Everlasting Love, then music and magic.

“We wanted something upbeat and much less cheesy but using the right sentiment, and that we just love this song.”

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“Try to bear in mind what matters- creating a lifelong commitment towards the person you like most and making memories (in rain or sunshine!) with your loved ones in one location. None will notice small things that go ‘wrong’, they’re just there to benefit from the day and celebrate along with you!”
