A Romantic Hilltop Wedding in Portugal
PR & communications manager Melissa and Philip, a good investment analyst, married on 24 September 2017 inside a Roman Catholic service having a reception afterward at Casa dos Penedos, Sintra, Portugal. They embraced its natural splendor to produce a rustic and romantic look based on a cream and white color palette, with touches from the English countryside through their selection of white and pink roses, gypsophila, and peonies.
In preserving the historic feel of the venue, Melissa’s selection of gowns is really elegant and classic, with gorgeous embroidered detailing around the bodice along with a flowing skirt. She found her ‘Saffron’ gown at their Mayfair boutique, and her words sum up how getting a gown to match her style made her feel.
“The detailing around the bodice is beautiful and ethereal and also the fit was exquisite. I still felt just like a princess, but more importantly, I felt much like me.”
Philip and the groomsmen chose navy three-piece suits, pink rose and gypsophila boutonnieres, and pink ties to complement the bridesmaid dresses.
The bridesmaids’ gowns set the color scheme for that day, and I love the pale pink bridesmaid dresses‘ hue and stylish drape. They’re by Stacees, who produce a beautiful selection of multiway gowns in certain gorgeous colors.
“I fell deeply in love with the words dresses as I loved they could be styled to match each girl’s shape and elegance. They all styled their dresses beautifully at the time and looked stunning.”
Melissa and Philip met during their second year at the university in Manchester.
“After following one another to various cities within the years that followed graduation (London, Birmingham, to London). Phil proposed annually before I was married on August 22, six years as we first started dating.”
“The proposal happened in private at Phil’s parent’s summer home in Freshwater East, Pembrokeshire whilst these were on holiday. It couldn’t happen to be more perfect; I was in among our favorite places, the sun’s rays were set within the balcony overlooking the bay also it was just the two of us.”
“Whilst we didn’t possess a particular theme, we knew we desired to incorporate just a little bit from the English garden look at the time and this was greatly reflected within the flowers and decorations. We chose white and pink roses, gypsophila, and peonies for that floral arrangement coupled with tea lights dotted everywhere around the venue.”
“We didn’t possess a particular song which was ‘ours’ or that people felt strongly mounted on. We’d been fans of John Legend’s music and we thought this specific song was beautiful. Not particularly confident dancers, we took dance lessons in the lead-up to the special day. When it came a time though, I chickened out from the choreographed routine!”
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“It is an incredible feeling having all of your loved ones in a single place to celebrate this type of joyous moment in your lives – savors every second!”
“Don’t sweat the little stuff. On the run-up towards the big day small things may not go quite to plan, but simply keep smiling and don’t allow them to get you down.”
